Alpha Kappa Alpha continues its focus on education with an emphasis on historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs).
Delta Theta Omega (DTO) promotes HBCUs by enlightening the community regarding HBCUs as institutions of excellence with historical and current significance. We contributed $8674.00 between 2018- 2019 towards the AKA Endowment initiative for HBCUs, and assisted five students with $1,000 scholarships to attend an HBCU in 2020. We also award $6,000 in scholarships annually through the Chapter-sponsored, fifty-year Signature Program, Culturama.
#CAP, ℠ which is the abbreviation for College Admission Process, is designed to assist students in their efforts to enter college by providing a hands-on approach that includes all the steps from researching various colleges to actually completing the application process.
DTO works with local high schools to identify juniors and seniors and assists them with their college application and enrollment process. We also take students on HBCU college tours annually.
